3.5 years dual apprenticeship · Vocational school in Tuttlingen
Only about 50 young people across all of Germany begin this apprenticeship each year. You will learn to manufacture surgical instruments from scratch – from raw stainless steel to a polished, ready-to-use OR instrument. Dual training in our workshop and at the vocational school in Tuttlingen, the world capital of surgical instruments.
What you will learn
- ⚙Milling, turning, grinding and polishing of stainless steel and titanium
- ⚡Laser welding and heat treatment
- ✨Surface finishing and coating
- 🔍Quality control under the microscope
- 🔧Assembly, adjustment and functional testing
- ⚙Operation of state-of-the-art 5-axis CNC machines
Requirements
- 🎓Secondary school diploma (Hauptschule or Realschule)
- 🔎Interest in precision work and technology
- ✋Good hand-eye coordination
- ⏰Patience and attention to detail
- 📈Good grades in math and physics are helpful
Career prospects
