Why we build these instruments ourselves.

A family workshop in Aach, a trade that about fifty people in Germany learn each year, and one conversation with a surgeon that changed how we work.

Why we exist

A senior surgeon explained to us what a pair of scissors does when it is only nearly good.

He heads a paediatric cardiac clinic, and he told us their scissors did not cut properly during procedures on children's hearts. Not once. Again and again.

You have to picture what he was describing. He compared it to a peanut, that is how small the structures are that are worked on there. A pair of scissors that does not separate cleanly but crushes, or slips at the tip, is not an annoyance in that place.

There, every single cut counts.

We trained as surgical instrument makers. We know what an edge looks like when it is only nearly right: the gap at the tip that the eye cannot see. The play in the joint that appears after twenty sterilisation cycles. The grind that passes on the inspection sheet and still does not feel right in the hand.

What we did not know before that conversation was what it means for the person holding them. A surgeon cannot briefly set aside scissors that will not cut. He is standing at a heart and has to carry on.

That is why we build instruments ourselves instead of buying them in and printing our name on them. And why every pair of scissors here goes under the microscope before it leaves the building.

What defines us

Three things a dealer cannot say.

01

We own ourselves

MICROQORE is a family business. Brian and Jennifer Fuerderer hold it together. There is no investor waiting for quarterly figures and no head office deciding where production would be cheaper. It means we can stop a batch because a tip is not right, and ask nobody.

02

We train the rarest trade

Across the whole of Germany about fifty people begin training as surgical instrument makers each year. Three and a half years, and afterwards you can do something almost nobody can. We learned this trade and we teach it ourselves. A craft that rare has to be passed on or it disappears.

03

We make the parts ourselves

Ratchets, milled parts, turned parts and screws are made in house, powered by our own roof. That is why an instrument from us is still repairable in twenty years instead of waste. We are neither a catalogue reseller nor an importer.

The Founder

Brian Fuerderer

Growing up in the Tuttlingen region, the world capital of medical technology, Brian Fuerderer was exposed to the manufacturing of surgical instruments from an early age. What began as a fascination for precision became a calling. After his apprenticeship as a surgical mechanic and several years in the industry, he founded MICROQORE MEDICAL with a clear conviction: to manufacture instruments that know no compromise. Today he leads a growing team at the Aach site, producing over 1,543 instrument variants, 100% Made in Germany.

"Every instrument must be good enough that I would use it in the operating room myself."

Our History

Seven years, one site.

01

2019

MICROQORE MEDICAL is founded.

With the intention of building surgical instruments ourselves rather than buying them in. Made in Germany from the start.

02

2020

The range grows beyond the needle holder.

Micro spring scissors, forceps and further instruments are added. One series becomes a programme.

03

2021

Move into the new building in Aach.

For the first time development, manufacturing and final inspection under one roof, at one site, powered by our own roof.

04

2023

The CNC department is expanded.

More capacity and more axes. Blanks are made in house instead of being bought in.

05

2025

Assembly and warehouse systems are built out.

An orderly store is what makes it possible to resupply an instrument in the identical version years later.

06

2026

Robotics, AI automation, automated cleaning.

The machine takes over what it does better. The grinding and the release stay in the hands of the instrument maker.
